Purity International ministries is partnering again this year with Kisii Gospel Church in the town of Kisii Kenya. For the last three years we have come alongside them to bless and support the widows and widower in this church. God has been and is always faithful in all His ways. We have seen Him work in the lives of these women and men and we are very thankful for you and your family for making this possible. It is a great privilege and honor for my wife and I to be a part of what God is doing.
In the past years the group has been involved in farming, growing corn (maize) and beans, which are the stable foods in this community. That did not happen this year because of the weather challenges. The first two and half months of the year (January and February) have always been historically dry, which are followed by fairly rainy season (mid March) and people are able to plant and grow crops. This year, first the usual dry season, which turned into a drought, when the rain started, it did not stop. The rains caused heavy floods and most of the early farmers lost everything. The moisture in the air was too much causing stored produce to rot causing a big loss for the group due to the poor storage system.
The goat project is going really well and some of the goats have multiplied and the members are looking forward to bless other widows and widowers next year with a pair of young goats. This is important for the group because after they bless the first offspring of the goat they will be free to rear the rest to benefit their families. Goats are an important animal to this community for meat and the offspring can be sold for some income. Also, the goal for next year is to purchase a land. This will give them an opportunity for growth and more projects instead of relying on farming and goat rearing only.
In this Christmas season would you prayerfully consider joining us this year again with a special year-end donation of whatever amount the Lord lays in your heart to help us meet our goal of assisting more widows and their children in the community in Kisii town? Your prayers and financial support will make a long-lasting impact in the lives of these women & men and their families. May the Lord continually bless you and your family for helping move this ministry forward in advancing God’s kingdom by helping those in need.
